Week of Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost… 10/2/2016

USA! USA! USA! (push)

Our Lord Jesus, you have endured the doubts and foolish questions of every generation.  Forgive us for trying to be judge over you, and grant us the confident faith to acknowledge you as Lord.

USA! USA! USA!

I love the United States of America… we are truly a blessed nation and I am blessed for being a citizen within its borders…

I followed a car on my way to the library to write this entry… Its license plate read BRO KEV…

COOL… HUH???

coincidence

Anyway, I have been reading scriptures found in the hymnal I got from my church in Hershey… I want to share with you one of scriptures designated to be taught the 20th Sunday after Pentecost.  It is the parable of the wicked vine-dressers, taught by Jesus Christ found in the Holy Gospel of Matthew written in the New Testament of our Holy Bible.

Matthew 21:33-43

The Parable of the Wicked Vine-dressers

33 “Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a wine-press in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vine-dressers and went into a far country. 34 Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vine-dressers, that they might receive its fruit. 35 And the vine-dressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the vine-dressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ 39 So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.

40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-dressers?”

41 They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vine-dressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

‘The stone which the builders rejected

Has become the chief cornerstone.

This was the Lord’s doing,

And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

43 “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.

AWESOME! This makes me want to get it going… USA! USA! USA!  I don’t want to see the United States of America lose God… WILL YOU HELP ME KEEP HIM PRESENT???

(Luke 24:6-7… MORE)

I am reading this week in church again… I LOVE IT… It appears that I am scheduled to read every other weekend in October and then some more… YOU KNOW IT.  I would love to see you there for encouragement… or at the very least please visit this blog/website this week to view the scriptures I will be reading and ask me about them…

“Every truly great accomplishment seems at first impossible…”

Let’s look at jobs…

9/28/2016 – Today, I spoke with my pastor… She gave a beautiful prayer over me… WISDOM… have it??? I also picked up a copy of the readings I will speak at my church on Sunday… No worries if you will not be present… I will go over them throughout this week for you…

The first lesson is from the book of Habakkuk in the Old Testament written in our Holy Bible…

Habakkuk 1:1-4

The Prophet’s Question

O Lord, how long shall I cry,
And You will not hear?
Even cry out to You, “Violence!”
And You will not save.
Why do You show me iniquity,
And cause me to see trouble?
For plundering and violence are before me;
There is strife, and contention arises.
Therefore the law is powerless,
And justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.

May you please help me prove Habakkuk wrong?  I want to believe that the Lord hears my cries…

Hopefully, the next reading I share with you is more comforting…

6/29/2016AWESOMENESS… I want to share with you the beginning of the next chapter that I am reading…

Habakkuk 2:1-4

God’s Reply to the Prophet’s Complaint

I will stand at my watchpost,
    and station myself on the rampart;
I will keep watch to see what he will say to me,
and what he[a] will answer concerning my complaint.
Then the Lord answered me and said:
Write the vision;
    make it plain on tablets,
so that a runner may read it.
For there is still a vision for the appointed time;
it speaks of the end, and does not lie.
If it seems to tarry, wait for it;
it will surely come, it will not delay.
Look at the proud!
Their spirit is not right in them,
but the righteous live by their faith.

THIS MAKES ME WANT TO RUN!

 THANK YOU GOD FOR WISDOM…

Nineteenth Sunday After Pentecost… 9/25/2016 (REVISED)

RAISES HAND: WHERE IS THE LOVE??? (push)

God of Love, you know our frailties and failings.  Give us your grace to overcome them; keep us from those things that harm us; and guide us in the way of salvation; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

RAISES HAND: WHERE IS THE LOVE???

Crazy… this world is crazy… Seeing all the hatred in this world makes me want to share the words of our Lord Jesus Christ to all of humanity.  From bombs exploding in New York City, to bombs being detonated in New Jersey, to stabbings in Minnesota, to shootings in Chicago and Philadelphia, makes me raise the question…

WHERE IS THE LOVE???

I choose to imitate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during times of uncertainty (questioning)… May I share with you a teaching from Jesus Christ written in the Holy Gospels according to Matthew???

Matthew 21:28-32

The Parable of the Two Sons

28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ 29 He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. 30 Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?”

They said to Him, “The first.”

Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.

SIMPLE… AND AWESOME!!!

I love going to the library and renewing my mind to the word of the Lord… A scripture I was drawn to this morning was written in the book of Isaiah written in the Old Testament in our Holy Bible.  It reads…

Isaiah 50:4-7

The Servant’s Humiliation and Vindication

4 The Lord God has given me

the tongue of a teacher,

that I may know how to sustain

the weary with a word.

Morning by morning he wakens—

wakens my ear

to listen as those who are taught.

5 The Lord God has opened my ear,

and I was not rebellious,

I did not turn backward.

6 I gave my back to those who struck me,

and my cheeks to those who pulled out the beard;

I did not hide my face

from insult and spitting.

7 The Lord God helps me;

therefore I have not been disgraced;

therefore I have set my face like flint,

and I know that I shall not be put to shame;

COOL… HUH???

I am excited to hear the readings and Holy Gospel this SUNDAY in church.

For those souls thirsting for more, please check this post through the week… I will be adding updates and personal stories to encourage you through your walk with Jesus Christ.

THANK YOU GOD!!!

9/21/2016 – This morning, I woke up to add these slides found on slideshare.net to my facebook page… I LEARNED THAT TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY on my Facebook News Feed…  I pray that leaders of our nations are filled with the Holy Spirit and are fair and just to the individuals they preside over.

After this prayer, I went to the gym and running.  I LEARNED that I was not the only person on the treadmill today.  I have a friend that fell off the treadmill today.  He is training to go for the NFL in the spring…

I told him about my episode with falling off a treadmill… THE HOLE I PUT IN THAT DAMN WALL GAVE ME ENCOURAGEMENT TO GIVE IT H+LL EVERY-TIME I WENT TO WORKOUT.

Hopefully, he knows… YOU ARE NEVER ALONE and to give training h+ll… I want to see him play on Sundays 🙂

9/22/2016 – Last night, I was working.  I was interrupted from my work by BREAKING NEWS on the TV sets… TV sets in a gym??? Why aren’t sports on 24/7, if the TVs must be in my war room 🙂 Anyway, CNN & Fox News were reporting on a riot in Charlotte North Carolina.

WHERE IS THE LOVE???

This brings an AWESOME scripture to mind… I want to share with you the words of our Lord Jesus Christ written in the New Testament in the book of John.

John 13:31-35

The New Commandment

31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I think this is AWESOME!  If only the people in the damn TV sets thought the same way.

9/24/2016 – Watched some good college football games today after work… I can not wait to hear the Holy Gospel at church.  We are going to learn about the well-known parable of the rich man and poor Lazarus.  I want to hear what all this story might mean for us, who are rich in God, and who feast sumptuously on the meal of Christ…

Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost… 9/18/2016 (REVISED)

GO. (push… 911)

Lord God, you call us to work in your vineyard and leave no one standing idle.  Set us to our tasks in the work of your kingdom, and help us to order our lives by your wisdom; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

GO!

I had a lot of cool scriptures that I had planned to share with you written by our brother Paul in the book of Philippians… However, my forgetfulness to bring my Hymnal to the Library is pointing me in a direction to share with you a teaching from our Lord Jesus Christ written in the Holy Gospel according to Matthew. (Matthew 20:1-16)

Matthew 20:1-16

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard

20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle,[a] and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’[b]

8 “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”

I don’t know… I LOVE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (PSALM 103:1)… I don’t get this… May God have mercy on me; however, this parable seems to go against everything that our society teaches us… Am I wrong for wanting more compensation for more work I did compared to others???

stop_complaining

THAT IS A PROBLEM… NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS… RUN YOUR OWN RACE…

Perhaps, I am not to understand the Lords reasoning… Perhaps, I am being taught to trust the Lord… (PSALM 103:5)

Yesterday, I went to Lancaster and got a SNAPPLE Diet Ice Tea to drink with my salad… SNAPPLE includes fun facts on the lids of their product when you open it… I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW…

“Emergency phone number in Europe is 112.”

I heard that churches in Europe are low in number of attendance… How do my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ understand the Holy Gospel without going to church?

I KNOW, I AM GOING TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY… I SIGNED UP TO READ THOSE LESSONS…

THANK YOU GOD FOR WISDOM!

LET’s GO2 CHURCH.

9/14/2016 – I stopped on my way to the gym to get some gum.  I ran into a friend I haven’t seen in a couple years.  She has her own hair saloon and offered to cut my hair.  My heart and prayers go out to her.  She has Lupus… that must suck… I am ignorant to the aspects of Lupus, so I asked her and did my own research… (Lupus RESEARCH)

Her life, brings a story to my mind written in the Old Testament in our Holy Bible.

Judges 16:17-22

Samson & Delilah

“No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

18 When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand. 19 Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him,[a] and his strength left him. 20 And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.

21 Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison. 22 However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.

MY NAME IS KEVIN… I may get my haircut… 🙂

9/15/2016 – Got my readings for church in the mail… I can not wait to share them with you on Sunday. 🙂

9/16/2016 – This morning, I was pleasantly surprised.  The local ABC news channel was LIVE at my old High School… Hershey High… They were there promoting tonight’s COCOA BEAN game.  The Cocoa Bean game is a football game between Hershey High and Milton Hershey High.  Not only did the news reporters describe the football game, they also reported on other happenings at Hershey High.  I learned that the students in the music program recently won the Apollo award.  I guess the Apollo award is like the Tony’s; however, given to a high school level production.  They won for putting on an AWESOME musical… God… this brings back memories.

I was in a musical… perhaps you heard of ‘Annie’… I was cast as ROOSTER… That brings to mind a scripture that I would like to share with you… (Matthew 26:34)

Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost… 9/11/2016 (REVISED)

FORGIVE… (push)

O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity.  Grant us the fullness of your grace, that, pursuing what you have promised, we may share your heavenly glory; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

FORGIVE…

Over the years a lot of words have been said…

One of my favorite lines comes from our Lord Jesus Christ written in the Holy Gospel according to Luke.   “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” – Jesus

Jesus said this while on the cross being crucified… AWESOME huh??? Instead of being angry at the people who beat him and put his humanly body through a horrible death, He did the opposite.  He asked the Father to forgive them.  Can you imagine if all the people on earth lived like Jesus???

*IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS PICTURE VIA MOBILE PHONE… CLICK “REPLAY” UNTIL IT GOES AWAY…

The human part of Jesus was an AWESOME teacher for us.  I want to share with you one of the stories about forgiveness He taught one of his followers (disciples) during His ministry on earth…

Matthew 18:21-35

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. 23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ 27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.

28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down at his feet[a] and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’[b] 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.

35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”

THESE WORDS ARE AWESOME!!!  Forgive, Forgive, Forgive… Forgive like there is NO tomorrow. 🙂  THANK YOU GOD FOR TOMORROW!

9/7/2016 – I was working out in Harrisburg trying to beat this thorn in the flesh out of me… (2 Corinthians 12:7) 🙂 While pushing it, I noticed a friend wearing a shirt that read “I am third.”  He is a good man and just got back from Venezuela spreading the Holy Gospel.  Anyway, I reminded him that we are second behind God…

His response… “SECOND PLACE IS THE FIRST LOSER”

When I left for the library, I made sure to show him the shirt I changed into.

9/8/2016 – I love challenges and God knows that…  I had the idea of working out tonight after I write this entry, work, dominate a leg workout, and a go for run… Well so far, all is complete but that last shoulder workout… I FORGIVE MY FRIEND/TRAINER FOR TRYING TO DESTROY MY LEGS THIS MORNING… A story in our old testament comes to mind for me to energize myself. May I share these scriptures with you???

Genesis 32:22-26

Wrestling with God

22 And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. 23 He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had.24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. 25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. 26 And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”

But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

Week of Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost… 9/11/2016

Sixteenth Sunday After Pentecost… 9/4/2016 (REVISED)

IS THE HEAT ON??? (push)

Almighty and eternal God, you know our problems and our weaknesses better than we ourselves.  In your love and by your power help us in our confusion and, in spite of our weakness, make us firm in faith; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

IS THE HEAT ON???

I LOVE IT!!! Such powerful words.  That introduction to my interpretation and to stories that I have experienced this week of the Sixteenth Sunday After Pentecost makes me want to continue walking with Jesus.  I must admit… it doesn’t appear that I am walking… IT APPEARS THAT I AM RUNNING… 🙂

I would love to share a story written in the Old Testament of our Holy Bible that I think speaks volumes about the unity of Christianity.  It is the story of 3 friends written in the book of Daniel that would not bow down to a statue of a false God… The story reads…

Daniel 3:16-29

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that, is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Saved in Fiery Trial

19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”

They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”

25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”[a]

Nebuchadnezzar Praises God

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.27 And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.

28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel[b] and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! 29 Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.”

Did you catch that???  The King (Nebuchadnezzar) saw the Son of God with the 3 friends in the fiery furnace.  That brings me to a scripture in the New Testament that reaffirms my faith in our Lord Jesus Christ… (Matthew 18:20)…

20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

SUBJECT CHANGE.

This week, I again volunteered my time to read lessons from our Holy Bible at church.  We still are on the summer schedule; therefore, I am going to read on Thursday and Sunday.  These scriptures are really grabbing my attention.  I feel the urgency to share these scriptures with you and will do so this Sunday… until then May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.

THE REMAINING TEXT ARE HAPPENINGS THAT OCCURRED TO ME THIS WEEK… (Before Sunday)

8/31/2016 – I was driving to the library from Karn’s after eating my salad when I read a cool quote on the Masonic Temple’s sign… I noticed that they like to put up different encouraging sayings… Today it READ… “To prevent is better than to cure”

I had a weird feeling about this… At the same instance I saw a dude run by with a weight vest… AWESOME!!!  I NEED TO WORKOUT WITH MINE MORE!!!

Anyway, the reason why I got a weird feeling about this saying is I know what NUMBER MASONIC TEMPLE THIS IS…

Our Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord is the cure for all my diseases.

GLORY TO GOD!

9/2/2016 – I read last night at church.  The air-conditioning still is not working in the chapel; therefore, we held our service in the lower level under the chapel.  I asked my pastor if we could have service outside.  Upon entering the lower level, I realized all of the work she did setting up the alter, candles, chairs, hymnals… and how stupid my question must have been.  I am glad we had the service inside.  The readings I went over appeared to resonate with the congregation… I included these readings on the following link… BE SURE TO CYCLE THROUGH THE PRESENTATION TO READ THE SCRIPTURES.

LESSON: A Church is just a building, unless the WORD of GOD is spoken in it… Then it becomes Holy.
