Matthew 5:38-48

Go the Extra Mile

³⁸ “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ ³⁹ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. ⁴⁰ If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. ⁴¹ And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. ⁴² Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

Love Your Enemies

⁴³ “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ ⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. ⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? ⁴⁷ And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? ⁴⁸ Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

I have a some questions for this teaching by Jesus Christ.  Who are considered enemies???  Aren’t we all considered equal in God’s eyes??? Perhaps, Jesus Christ was speaking to us in general terms…

We do not get our own way all the time; however, that does not make it right to hate the person in the way of us achieving our own way. Jesus Christ gives us an awesome example on how to behave when we are upset during these trials.

(Hebrews 11:29-12:2)

You know… I also try to live by Jesus’s example… I WANT TO GO THAT EXTRA MILE.

RUNNING AFTER WISDOM…

My true intentions are to love God.  To me, this relationship is very intimate and personal… I truly want you to have this relationship with our Creator as well… I am loving the “unknown” path I am on, and I want to encourage you on your own path with our Lord Jesus Christ.  May I share with you teachings by Him???

Matthew 5:20-37

²⁰ For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Murder Begins in the Heart

²¹ “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ ²² But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. ²³ Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. Adultery in the Heart

Marriage Is Sacred and Binding

RUNNING AFTER WISDOM…

After reading the bible this morning…

(Genesis 15:1-6)

I read this posted on a friends Facebook wall…

“People wait all week for Friday, all year for Summer, all life for Happiness…”

Now imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do?
Draw out every cent, of course! Each of us has such a bank. It’s name is TIME… Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes off as lost, what ever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposit, the loss is yours… There is no drawing against “tomorrow.” You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the upmost in health, happiness and success. The clock is running, so make the most of today, everyday!

Matthew 5:13-20

Believers Are Salt and Light

¹³ “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

¹⁴ “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christ Fulfills the Law

¹⁷ “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. ¹⁹ Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ²⁰ For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

That is what I really love about faith… LET ME EXPLAIN…

Even though, I might not “feel” like doing the righteousness that Jesus Christ commands us to do… I DO IT ANYWAY… I will see my reward later… It is right to give humans the WORD OF THE LORD… I “FEEL” THE NEED TO SHARE WITH YOU A PSALM…

Psalm 112

The Blessed State of the Righteous

112 Praise the Lord!

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.

² His descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the upright will be blessed.
³ Wealth and riches will be in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
⁴ Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
⁵ A good man deals graciously and lends;
