HIGH FIVE! (gym, golf, basement, ROTARY learning courses, Toastmasters educational path)

Good morning, Kevin. Let’s dig into John 2:1-11, the miracle at the wedding in Cana. This passage is much more than Jesus rescuing a wedding reception. It is the first public sign revealing who He is and what He came to do.
The Significance of John 2:1-11
1. Jesus Reveals His Glory for the First Time
John calls this miracle a “sign,” not simply a miracle.
“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” (John 2:11)
The purpose was not merely to provide wine. The purpose was to reveal Jesus’ divine identity.
The disciples had already begun following Him, but now they witnessed undeniable evidence that He possessed God’s power over creation.
Key Insight:
Faith grows when Jesus reveals His glory.
2. Water Becomes Wine: A Picture of Transformation
The six stone jars were used for Jewish ceremonial purification.
Jesus took water intended for external cleansing and transformed it into wine.
This points to a greater reality:
| Old Covenant | New Covenant |
|---|---|
| Ritual washing | Inner transformation |
| Law | Grace |
| External cleansing | Cleansed heart |
| Ceremony | Relationship |
Jesus wasn’t merely changing water into wine.
He was announcing:
“Something better has arrived.”
Key Insight:
Jesus transforms ordinary things into extraordinary things, including people.
3. The Best Wine Came Last
The master of the feast was amazed:
“Thou hast kept the good wine until now.” (John 2:10)
This is symbolic.
Everything before Christ was preparation.
The Law was good.
The Prophets were good.
The Temple was good.
But Jesus brought something greater.
Key Insight:
God’s best gift was not Moses, the Temple, or the sacrifices.
God’s best gift was Jesus Himself.
4. Mary’s Instruction Is a Model for Every Disciple
Mary said:
“Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” (John 2:5)
This is one of the most important discipleship principles in Scripture.
When the servants obeyed Jesus, even though His instructions may have seemed strange, they witnessed a miracle.
Key Insight:
Obedience often comes before understanding.
5. The Wedding Points to God’s Joy
Jesus’ first recorded miracle was not at a palace, battlefield, or religious gathering.
It occurred at a wedding celebration.
This reveals something important about God’s character:
God is not opposed to joy.
Throughout Scripture, weddings symbolize God’s relationship with His people.
Later, Jesus is called the Bridegroom, and believers are compared to His bride.
Key Insight:
The Cana wedding foreshadows the future marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19).
6. The Empty Jars Represent Humanity
The jars were empty until Jesus intervened.
Likewise, people often attempt to fill their lives with achievements, possessions, or traditions.
Only Jesus can provide what truly satisfies.
Key Insight:
Human effort can fill jars with water. Only Jesus can turn water into wine.
What This May Mean for You Right Now
Kevin, one thing you’ve consistently shared is your desire to keep building, even when you don’t fully understand how God is working.
This passage reminds us:
- The servants simply filled the jars.
- Jesus performed the miracle.
- The disciples grew in faith.
- The celebration continued.
Sometimes God does not ask us to understand everything.
He asks us to fill the jars He puts in front of us.
You help your mom. You serve your church. You lead in Toastmasters. You volunteer through Rotary. You keep showing up.
The miracle part belongs to Him.

Short, Simple, and Sweet:
Kevin, the servants at Cana didn’t create the miracle. They simply carried the water. Right now, you may feel like you’re just carrying water through responsibilities, caregiving, work, and service. But John 2 reminds us that when we faithfully carry the water, Jesus is able to do what only He can do: transform it into something far greater than we imagined. Keep building. Keep filling the jars. God is still at work. 🙏

YEAH!.. I love the encouragement in the morning… This morning after I go2 the gym, I am going to the Driving Range at Adventure Sports. We are going to have a church Golf Outing on Thursday, October 22… THAT MEANS, I WILL HAVE 2 MORE CHANCES 2GO2 THAT DRIVING RANGE B4! (yeah!)

😂 CHEST DAY! My apologies, Kevin!
I had you over there doing curls and rows in my head.
So let’s correct the game plan:
🏋️ Chest Day
- Bench Press
- Incline Press
- Dumbbell Flyes
- Push-Ups
- Whatever else is on the battle plan today
⛳ Driving Range
- Smooth tempo
- Solid contact
- Have fun
- Don’t try to solve golf in one bucket of balls
Then…
🏌️♂️ Church Golf Outing – October 22
- Today = Practice #1
- Next range session = Practice #2
- Final range session = Practice #3
That’s the kind of progression I like. No pressure. Just preparation.
And since we started the morning in John 2, here’s another thought:
The servants filled the jars before they saw the miracle.
Today you’re filling some jars:
✅ Chest workout
✅ Driving range practice
✅ Preparing for fellowship at the golf outing
You may call them little things, but little things done consistently have a way of becoming big things later.
So go hit that chest workout hard, then head over to Adventure Sports and let a few golf balls know who’s boss. 😎
Kevin’s Morning Battle Cry:
“I’m not trying to be perfect today. I’m simply getting better than I was yesterday.”
NOW GO BUILD SOME PECS AND SOME CONFIDENCE! 💪⛳🔥

LET’S GO2 FIELD OF SCREAMS AT NIGHT.
